tsmcfadden — FROM THE ARTIST:

I stopped painting after my rescue Pitt-Lab, Seven, who gave me great inspiration and was like a child to me, passed away.  It has been over a year and a half.  My creative energy seeped out in other ways, with sculptures and furniture, book writing, and an extensive period of time exploring digital painting.  I am not ready to feature my digital artwork here, yet, as it is still evolving.  But, it gave me great comfort and resolution.  I found myself marveling at this new direction.  My dear friends, Todd and Lisa - collectors of my work - actually pushed me to this, somehow knowing it would help heal me.

You will find a new furniture section here with a few pieces from my past and present.  It’s an area of my creativity that continues to evolve from a love of all things wood.  And I am relaunching my children’s book, “The Whole Human Race,” which I have reformatted and redesigned.

I have been told by more than a few “art insiders” that I should keep my work separate, on separate sites - so as not to confuse with my multitude of unrelated projects and bursts of energy.  But, if you are to “buy into” me as an artist, shouldn’t you be as confused as I am?  Shouldn’t you be wondering “what’s next?” like I constantly am.  That’s my reality.  Sometimes it feels like a nightmare, sometimes it feels like a beautiful dream.  Come on in.

So against conventional wisdom, here on my website, you will find the many creative branches of my brain.  If you see an image of a wooden salad bowl with a salad in it, just know that I whittled the bowl from a tree stump because I needed a distraction from a project I was working on (and something to put my salad in).

Note: The work in these galleries is representative of different stages of my career.
